Happy Friday!
4th of July is right around the corner! I really don’t know why I’m so super buzzed about it this year. I mean, I’ve always loved it, but this year I just can’t wait! The barbeques! The fireworks! The red, white and blue cocktails! Yippee!!!
If you’re as excited about 4th of July as I am this year, well then you just gotta have a door wreath to show your enthusiasm to the world! This one is so easy to do and looks really fantastic, you’ll want to make one for every house in your neighborhood! (Well, maybe not, but still… )
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 18″ wreath *
- 20′ x 2 1/2″ patriotic-themed wired ribbon
- 20′ x 3″ burlap wired ribbon
- 4″ x 6″ American flag
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
- burlap twine
* I used a grapevine wreath, but since you will be completely covering the wreath with the ribbons, any kind of wreath will work.
Wrap the burlap ribbon around the wreath as shown below. Cat inspection is optional (but cute). Secure with hot glue as needed.
Wrap the patriotic-themed ribbon around the uncovered areas of the wreath as shown below. Secure with hot glue as needed.
Make a bow like the one shown below. If you don’t know how to make a bow, find a tutorial online because frankly, I suck at making bows. The one below took me almost an hour to make. I’m not kidding.
Attach the bow to the bottom of the wreath by tying it on or using hot glue. Attach the flag staff between the bow and the wreath using hot glue. String some burlap twine around the top of the wreath, hang up, and enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Let me know if this was great as fireworks, or if it was just like one of those black ash snake thingies.

I'd love to hear what you think!
