Hello and welcome to The Farmhouse Friday Link Party #41!
Hey guys,
I feel like I’ve been the bearer of all bad news lately, so if you don’t want to hear any more (and I don’t blame you), just skip over this part.
One of my cousins who lived across the street from us passed away last week as a result of complications from the flu. It hit him over the holidays and long story short, his body started shutting down and he was just unable to recover. He was always a great cousin, and you couldn’t ask for a better neighbor. He was in his mid-seventies.
It just seems like it’s been a tough month for a lot of people I know. All we can do is hang in there and wait for it to get better.
Again, I apologize for all the bad news lately, but I wouldn’t feel right about just acting like everything was okay and not mentioning it. I do want to keep this a happy place for you to get away from life’s challenges, but I also don’t want to be fake. I know no matter how hard I try to hide it when bad things happen in my life, it would come through here anyway, so it’s just better for me to keep it real here than to try to gloss it over when things aren’t the happiest in my world.

We’ve had a very rough week as well, Michelle, and next week promises more of the same. But we are trusting the Lord because he is faithful and wants the best for us. Praying for you and your family as walk through the loss of your cousin. I appreciate you holding the party in the midst of it all. You’ve definitely created a happy place for us to come together 🙂

Michelle, this is your blog and you’re entitled to share whatever you wish. My sympathy to your entire family on the loss of your cousin. It’s times like this that I understand there are others who are dealing with issues far worse than mine or anyone else’s for the matter. My Grandfather had a saying that I’ll never forget “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about, be kind ~ always.” Everyday I find that statement to be absolutely true.
