Welcome to The Farmhouse Friday Link Party #59!
Hey guys! How was your week?
I know I keep harping on this crazy weather, but could it really get any more bipolar? Tuesday we had no wind and it almost hit 100 degrees. Wednesday it was super windy and in the 70s. By Saturday it’s supposed to be near 100 again. What gives?
And the weather isn’t just crazy here – it seems like it’s the same story all over the US. Have you heard about all the flooding in Maryland? I feel so bad for the folks there, and I realize that I have NOTHING to complain about compared to them as far as weather is concerned. I’m hoping it stops raining there soon and that everyone who lives there stays safe.
This week’s features:
I love vintage pillows, but I never bought any when I’ve seen them for sale because I’m always afraid I’m going screw them up if I try to wash them. Lora B. gives some practical advice on how to collect and care for vintage ticking pillows. After reading Lora’s post, you can bet that the next time I see some for sale I’m going to scoop them up!
Penny at Penny’s Vintage Home mixed pastels with more traditional patriotic colors to create a memorable Memorial Day on her back porch (pun intended).
Ever play around with stenciling furniture? Me either, but I’ve always wanted to try it. Lee Ann at Creative Moments shares some great tips when she made over these stools in a soft grey finish with fun Mandela stencils. After reading her post, I feel brave enough to try it myself.
Do you want to try chalk painting furniture but think it’s too difficult? Diana at Adirondack Girl At Heart demonstrates how easy it really is with her quick 1-2-3 vintage makeover with paint and dark wax. She includes some great tips for chalk paint newbies!
The party rules are super simple! Link up your favorite DIY projects, decor projects, and crafts that are farmhouse style. If it doesn’t fit into that description, please don’t link it up. Please no food/recipe posts. You can link up your new and old posts alike as long as you only link them up here once.
I don’t require you to link back to this party, but if you do, I would sure appreciate it! I also don’t require you visit or comment on other blogger’s linkups, but it’s always a nice way to share the bloggy love! Comments are like Skittles to bloggers – we love them and we can’t get enough of them! If you pin anything from the party, please pin it from the original source.
By linking up, you will get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party! You will also get a chance for your post to be shared on my Facebook group DIY Farmhouse Style, which at this writing has over 305 thousand members.
By linking up to this party, you agree to give me permission to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with an explicit link back to your original source.
Thanks so much for stopping by The Farmhouse Friday Link Party! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and week ahead, and I’ll see you back here next Friday!

Michelle, if it makes you feel any better, I’ve been harping about the weather too. We went from +30C to having to turn on our furnace again within 24 hours. I’m writing this with warm fuzzy socks on my feet because I’m so cold. Craziness! Thanks for the party and hope you have great weather for the weekend 🙂
Michelle says

I ruined my washer by trying to wash a vintage feather pillow. I had feathers everywhere plus a repair bill.
Michelle says
I’m sorry that happened to you 🙁 I hope Lora’s tips will help you if you ever decide to try again.
