I’m sharing my favorite thrifty DIY projects on the blog to date! You can see everyone’s contributions to this month’s Thrifty Style Team at the bottom of this post! 🙂
My Entryway Table Repurposed from a Coffee Table is one of my very first thrifty projects I shared here. This was a coffee table that started splitting down the middle due to water damage, but I just couldn’t find it in myself to throw it out. Instead I cut it in two pieces longways along the split and came up with this.
The one thing that’s interesting about this project is that people either absolutely love it or can’t stand it. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and whether people love it or hate it, in the end it still drives traffic here. Like the old saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, as long as they get the spelling of my blog URL right. 🙂 I plan on writing about my experience as a blogger with this and why you should always post what you personally like on your blog no matter what anyone else thinks, so stay tuned! 🙂
My Shabby Chic Fall Wreath Tutorial is another of my very first thrifty projects I posted on here. It is my most popular post on Hometalk by far with over 2.8 million views. I think what people like about it is that it is a simple and thrifty project, but it looks like it took a lot of time, money and effort to make.
Along the same theme as the frame wreath above, my Herb Drying Rack Repurposed From A Picture Frame was also popular as well as being thrifty and useful. I’m still using it today – I have it hanging in my pantry where I use it to dry herbs from our garden, which saves me even more money – herbs are so expensive to buy in stores! It’s the thrifty project that just keeps on thrifting! 🙂
One of my more recent thrifty projects, my DIY Farmhouse Tray From A Repurposed Cabinet Door is one of my personal favorites. It is so simple to make, yet the finished project is as useful as it is elegant. And you can pretty much get everything you need for this project for next to nothing at your local Habitat For Humanity ReStore. What’s not to love?
Another of my more recent thrifty projects, my Cookie-cutter Mirror Gets A Farmhouse Style Makeover is another personal favorite. I am working on making over one of our downstairs bathrooms, and I really love that I was able to makeover the mirror I had in there with a more rustic look without having to spend any money to buy a new mirror!
