Hey friends! This week I’m teaming up with 24 talented bloggers to bring you the Summer Festival Blog Hop, hosted by Kendra at Joy In Our Home! This week we will bring you a whole week of summer inspiration, including vignettes, front porches, recipes, tablescapes, and mantles! Be sure to check out the entire schedule at the bottom of this post!
If you’re coming over from seeing all the gorgeous vignettes from our host Kendra at Joy In Our Home, welcome! 🙂
Today I’m sharing three vignettes – my entryway sideboard, my corner hutch in our family room, and my hutch in our dining room.
This is my sideboard in our entryway. It’s one of my favorite furniture pieces in our home.
I wanted to use real sunflowers, but my sunflowers aren’t quite blooming yet, so silk sunflowers it is. They look pretty realistic though.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve tried to keep my decor more simple. Nowadays I decorate with my “every day” stuff, and then mix in a little seasonal stuff and call it good.
My hubby and I recently made the chalkboard so it’s still relatively new here. I just love it!
A couple flower frogs, a vintage style sunflower print that I dug out of my scrapbook paper stash, and a vintage water sprinkler that used to belong to my grandparents makes for some sweet summer themed decor. I wonder what they’d think if they knew nowadays we decorate with the stuff they used to water their yard?
These silk sunflowers really do look like the real thing!
Next up is my corner hutch in our family room. I didn’t do a lot with it, so I only snapped a couple of photos.
I used silk hydrangeas, another vintage sprinkler of my grandparents, a vintage watering can and a small vintage vegetable box to give my hutch a more summery vibe.
On to my dining room hutch. It’s another of my favorite furniture pieces in our home.
I ran out of flowers (both real and silk) so I had to improvise. The flowers you see are star thistle and another viney type with small, delicate pink flowers. Yes folks, these are weeds wildflowers. They don’t look too bad if I say so myself! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed my summer farmhouse style inspiration vignettes! Be sure to check back every day this week as we will have 5 awesome blogs posting for each day!

Michelle – your home is gorgeous – no matter what season it is. You had us at aqua mason jar and sunflowers!
LOL thank you so much you two! 😀
Michelle everything looks beautiful, but your weeds in the blue mason jars are perfection. It takes me back to my childhood summers in the country. I used “weeds’ in my post too, lovely Queen Anne’s Lace. I love your distressed books too!
You have nailed an authentic farmhouse look that can’t be bought it stores.
So glad to be joining you on this tour. Great post!
Thanks so much Amber! I love your Queen Anne’s Lace in your gorgeous tour. We have it growing in our area too, but it grows in springtime here. Maybe I’ll use some for a springtime hop next year 🙂 So happy to be on the tour with you too! 🙂
I can see why the sideboard is one of your favorite pieces, I love all the details. And that collection of scales in the corner hutch is my favorite, what a great way to display them. Take care.
Thanks so much Stacey! 🙂
Oh my gosh your home and decor is adorable! I love the farmhouse feel and all those antiques! Plus your buffet and hutch is right up my alley for furniture! Love it all!
Thanks so much Kristin! 🙂
I love that white hutch too! You have a real talent for making things look pretty and inviting.
Thank you so much Mallory! 🙂
I spy a yellow sprinkler that looks just like mine! Love the aqua, yellow and green with all your white; so fresh! Fun hop to be a part of!
Your yellow sprinkler in your vintage summer inspiration post reminded me I had one almost identical to it tucked away somewhere, and I just had to dig it out and use it! And yes indeedy, this has been a super fun hop! 🙂
I love how warm and happy your decorating style is. Your vignettes are so charming. I like how you just add seasonal accents.
Thank you Debra! 🙂
I love your white hutch and the summer touches that you added.
Thanks so much Kristi! 🙂
