Welcome to The Farmhouse Friday Link Party #68!
Hey friends! How was your week?
Have you ever had a really big project in mind, but you put off starting it because it was so big?
And when you finally did start said project, it took what seemed like forever to get it finished because it was so big?
That’s where I’m at with my kitchen cabinets.
As you can see we have a large kitchen with a lot of kitchen cabinets.
That’s great in of itself – lots of storage and plenty of room to prepare meals!
But I really didn’t have an appreciation of the number of cabinets we had until I decided to paint them.
By myself.
I was hoping to have it wrapped up by the first of August, but obviously that didn’t happen.
I decided the only way I was ever going to get it all done was to just power through it this week. But one thing I don’t do well is working on the same task day in and day out for several days straight. I feel like I’m in Groundhog Day, but instead of chasing groundhogs I’m in an endless loop of cabinet painting hell.
I’m hoping to get it all finished by the end of the weekend so that a. I don’t have to do it anymore, b. I can post all the after photos here, and c. you don’t have to listen to me complain about it anymore. 🙂

The party rules are super simple! Link up your favorite DIY projects, decor projects, and crafts that are farmhouse style. If it doesn’t fit into that description, please don’t link it up. Please no food/recipe posts. You can link up your new and old posts alike as long as you only link them up here once.
I don’t require you to link back to this party, but if you do, I would sure appreciate it! I also don’t require you visit or comment on other blogger’s linkups, but it’s always a nice way to share the bloggy love! Comments are like Skittles to bloggers – we love them and we can’t get enough of them! If you pin anything from the party, please pin it from the original source.
By linking up, you will get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party! You will also get a chance for your post to be shared on my Facebook group DIY Farmhouse Style, which at this writing has over 313 thousand members.
By linking up to this party, you agree to give me permission to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with an explicit link back to your original source.

Michelle I have a few small projects to finish that I cannot seem to do for whatever reason – even I don’t know. So it comes as no surprise that you would have a hard time with a project as big as your kitchen cabinets. Good luck. I’ll be cheering you on from here, while still, I get nothing done. 😉
Michelle says
Thanks so much Mary! 🙂 I hope you find the inspiration to tackle those little projects. Have a wonderful weekend!

I feel your pain, Michelle! I painted mine a few years ago and I groaned the whole way through, and I have a much smaller kitchen. Take it from me, it feels soooooooo good once it’s done. You can do this! Thanks for the party 🙂
Michelle says
Thanks Marie! 🙂 I’m not much of a drinker, but I’m definitely going to be knocking back a couple to celebrate once I’m done! 😀 Have a great weekend!

We transformed our dark kitchen into a bright space by painting the kitchen cabinets a few years ago……what a job! I feel your pain…lol! Thanks for featuring my tobacco basket post!

Michelle I know EXACTLY what you mean! The only reason our cabinets got painted and finished in a week is because my husband was off work for over a week for snow a few Januarys ago and we tackled them because we were snowed in! I have a ton of cabinets too. Now I am wanting to repaint them before all the fall tours and hops, I don’t think I am up for it. Your picture reminded me haha! I am sure yours will look amazing when you are finished!
Thanks for hosting, have a great weekend!
Michelle says
Thanks Amber! 🙂 All I can say is that I’m never painting that many cabinets by myself again! But I am happy my kitchen will be ready for the fall tours and hops! 😀
