If you are coming over from Botanic Bleu, wasn’t Judith’s porch with natural greenery gorgeous?
My Christmas front porch is short and sweet this year. The weather was not cooperating with me decorating my porch last week as we had rainstorms pretty much the entire time. The only place on my porch that wasn’t getting pounded by the storms was my front door alcove.
I love using natural elements in my outdoor decor during the colder months as it will stay fresh-looking for several weeks. I filled one of my favorite milk cans with branches from our redwood and bay leaf trees and berries from our heavenly bamboo bushes.
I filled the other corner of my front door alcove with a vintage milking stool, two faux Christmas trees and a wire basket full of pine cones. The pine cones were already starting to close up from being outside in the cold rainy weather.
I love the sunburst wreaths that are in style now! I spiffed mine up with some redwood and rosemary clippings and added heavenly bamboo berries for a pop of color.

Your red berries and redwood branches make your sunburst wreath perfect for Christmas. Do redwood trees have small yellow berries that I see in your milk can?

Thanks so much Judith! The thingies on the redwood tips are actually blossoms, but they do look like little berries.

Those are bamboo berries…from your yard? Lucky! They’re amazing! How wonderful to be able to pick all that right in your yard. Love the galvanized milking can full of greens and the twine tied around the neck. I’d want to do that with your little milking can too…that I envy;)

Your milk can filled with greens looks wonderful. My mom has milk cans from the dairy farm where my grandfather grew up on either side of her front door filled with greens. I love that look! I also love your front door wreath. Everything looks festive and very inviting for Christmas guests.

Hi Kathleen! I’m happy my decorating ideas inspire you! I didn’t paint the milk can – that’s how it was when I bought it. I’ve never tried to paint something to get a similar look so I wouldn’t know how to to it, but you might be able to find a tutorial on Pinterest.
