Hey friends! Happy Labor Day weekend!
Yesterday was my birthday (I’m 51) and I got a birthday present I wasn’t expecting – a new air conditioner!
We’ve been in our house just over 10 years now, and that seems like the magic number when appliances start giving out. We had to replace our washer, dryer and refrigerator earlier in the year, and then this week our upstairs air conditioner went kaput. Of course it had to be the upstairs air conditioner where our master bedroom is and of course it had to happen on one of the hottest weeks of the year 🥵
When things like this happen, it’s easy to get upset about the unexpected expense. No one wants to drop almost $9k for a new air conditioner. But it reminds me how fortunate we are that we can afford to replace it instead of having to do without, and that we even have a home that needs appliances replaced from time to time. We have so many homeless here in California… it both breaks my heart and makes me so thankful that none of my family and friends are in the same situation. It reminds me to be grateful and thankful for the imperfectly wonderful live I have, because although it could always be better, it also could be a hell of a lot worse.

Link Party Rules:
The party rules are super simple! Link up your favorite DIY projects, decor projects, and crafts that are farmhouse style.* If it doesn’t fit into that description, please don’t link it up. Please, no food/recipe posts.
* I use the term “farmhouse style” loosely and I consider any projects, decor or crafts that would work in a farmhouse or any type of country styled home to be farmhouse style. You do not have to live in a farmhouse or it be your predominant style in order to share your projects here.
I don’t require you to link back to this party, but if you do, I would sure appreciate it! I also don’t require you visit or comment on other blogger’s linkups, but it’s always a nice way to share the bloggy love! By linking up, you will get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across my social media. If you pin anything from the party, please pin it from the original source.
By linking up to this party, you agree to give me permission to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post was featured.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Michelle, it seems like everything is costing more and more these days. Repairs and replacements are really hard to feel good about, but like you said, it’s a blessing that we can afford to make them. Why does the AC always go out at the END of Summer? haha. Thanks so much for sharing my Baker’s Rack, and thanks for hosting! Have a good weekend, and try to stay cool!
