Hey friends! Today I’m sharing a couple of ideas on how to use amber Mason jars in fall decor. It’s my contribution to the Embracing Fall Home Tours hosted by Amber at Follow The Yellow Brick Home!
If you’re coming from County Road 407, isn’t Cindy’s Fall family room just gorgeous?
I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t even know amber Mason jars existed until a few weeks ago. Amber glass jars have been all the rage in Fall decor lately and it got me thinking – are amber Mason jars a thing? A quick Amazon search answered my question that yes indeedy, they are! I bought 3 different sizes of them in 16, 32 and 64 ounces (see below).
Some of the links in this post are Amazon affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may make a small commission at no additional cost to you. If you do purchase through one of my links, thank you so much for helping keep my blog content free for everyone to enjoy!
I used the 16 and 64 ounce jars in a simple vignette I put together on top of our sideboard in our entryway.
All the pumpkins, gourds and greenery are real. I bought the pumpkins and gourds from a local grower and all the greenery is from our yard.
I bought the solar powered fairy lights on Amazon as well (see “Shop This Vignette” above). I traded out the silver jar rings that came with the fairy lights with some vintage ones I had on hand. If you don’t have any vintage canning jar rings, you can always spray paint the rings that come with the fairy lights if you want them to be a different color.
I cut squares out of black craft paper to cover the solar tops when I want to turn on the fairy lights during the day. You can also cut the craft paper in circles to fit under the ring and use scrapbook paper if you want to make the lids more decorative. I like using the squares because I can turn the fairy lights on and off easily without having to unscrew the lids every time.
I used the 64 ounce Mason jar as a vase. Like the 16 ounce jars, I put a vintage canning jar ring I had on hand to spruce it up a bit.
I hope you enjoyed these easy ideas for how to use amber Mason jars in Fall decor! Next up on the tour is Judith at Botanic Bleu. Her black and gold Halloween fireplace mantle is gonna blow you away!

I love the amber mason jars! I had a sweet collection of vintage brow jars, but I gave them to our youngest daughter the other day. She loved them and I need to start downsizing. π You created a beautiful vignette with the jars and pumpkins!

What a lovely vignette you created! If I were to visit your home, I’d spend a long time admiring this pretty display. I didn’t know that amber jars existed, and I’m glad that you shared them. I also prefer the old style gold rings and if I gift someone something that I’ve canned, I always use a silver ring so that I can use the gold ones for my jars. I love that you used real pumpkins over faux. I prefer the real thing and own very few faux pumpkins, mostly because I don’t want to have to store them. It’s always a pleasure to see your decor!
Michelle says
Thank you so much Paula! And yes, I don’t like to have to store faux pumpkins either. I’d much rather compost the real ones and grow more next year! π
Cecilia says

Michelle, I had no idea! I’m glad mason jars have a new vibe; I would have been sad for these classics to go out of style. Great tip with the black paper square. You’re going to have me watching for them now, since it sounds like I haven’t been up on the trend!
Michelle says
Thanks so much Lora! π

Hi, Michelle,
Actually this is my third time reading this blog post, but just now leaving a comment. The amber fruit jars are perfect with your seasonal fresh produce and yard clippings… all say “Fall” in the nicest way. Fall is a time for amber-colored light, harvesting produce, and yard plants winding down for the year.
Happy Fall,
Judith

Thank you so much Judith! π
