Hello dear friends! I hope you all had a nice week!
I’m hoping this will be the last week of Farmhouse Friday being the only post for the week ๐ My mother-in-law’s rosary and funeral was held last week in order to accommodate relatives that were visiting from out-of-state for Thanksgiving. Now that things are back to relatively normal I hope to get some projects done and up on the blog next week. I truly appreciate your continued understanding and patience with me.
At the start of the year I promised myself I wouldn’t stress out over the blog so much and I would strive to put quality over quantity when it came to blog posts. If this situation happened last year, I would be beside myself in stress trying to “catch up” by doing blog posts that are not my best work in order to post some “fillers” until I got the stuff I really wanted to post finished. I’ve come to realize that stressing about projects this time of year accomplishes a whole lot of nothing except guaranteeing that I don’t enjoy the holidays. I’ve also realized that when life keeps throwing curve balls at me where I can’t get things done like I wanted to, it’s best for me to throw in the towel and lean into it by taking a break.
How do you deal with stress during the holidays?

Michele, please put blogging on the back burner. I’ve had to learn the hard way it’s just not THE priority in life. It’s fun and a great way to connect but real life sometimes calls and at that point we need to be present without regrets. Most of the stress we have in blogging is self-imposed. I’ve had to learn to not push myself. Enjoy your family and roll with it. We all understand. thanks so much for hosting and enjoy the holidays!
Michelle says
Thank you so much Debra! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Michelle, I admire your healthy blogging/life balance and you’ve got your priorities in the right place. I wish I would give myself permission to do the same. We’ll still be here whether you’re blogging once a week or 5. Thank you so much for your sweet narrative and feature with my winter wreath idea! This week I’m only sharing one link because I’ve been doing more cooking then DIYing of late. Have a great weekend! xo

Michelle I am sharing your sentiments and trying not to stress. There is no way I can pump out post after post with my graduate classes and starting back to teaching unexpectedly (during the busiest time of year for a choir teacher!) I am still not even close to being finished with my decorating. My classes end this week so I am hoping that will free up some time.
Thanks for hosting!

Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for featuring Christina’s Rustic Boho Christmas Mantel! Oh the stress of this time of year… I think the only way that I can manage it is to remember that I can’t do it all and it’s ok to say “no”!
Thanks for hosting this party every week!
