Hey guys! Today I am so excited to join a fabulous group of talented ladies for the first time ever at A Lifestyle of Love blog hop hosted by Cindy at County Road 407! A Lifestyle of Love gets together every other month to bring you beautiful vintage and farmhouse decorating ideas using antique and repurposed goodies!
If you’re coming over from Our Southern Home, don’t you just love how Christy used decor books in her decor? So clever!
This month’s theme is decorating with books! I’m going to share 3 ways to use vintage books in your decor!
1. Use vintage books as risers.
I love to use my vintage books as risers! They are perfect for giving other decor a little lift on your mantle like I did here in springtime.
The books raise my other decor up off the mantle and make them more of a focal point. Before I used the books, the decor just kinda blended in and “got lost” in the mantle.
You can also use vintage books as risers in a decorative box (like a vintage soda box) to lift the decor that you want as the focal point up out of the box so it’s easier to view.
2. Use vintage books in baskets.

Vintage books are the perfect for baskets! You can use them as risers or just by themselves like I did here.
Would you believe me if I told you these weren’t actually vintage books, but paperbacks I “aged” to look like they were? I shared how to make paperback books look vintage here!
3. Use vintage books as fillers.

Got a nook, corner, or something else in your home that you can never figure out what to do with? Or a hutch like this one where you able to fill all the shelves but one? Fill it with books!
You can use bookends or corbels like I did here to hold the books in place, or just fill the whole area up with books!

I hope you enjoyed my 3 ways to use vintage books in your decor!

Happy decorating!

I so much enjoyed seeing your ideas for decorating with old books. I’m really eager to try your method of making books look vintage with coffee. Filling a basket with books is another idea that I need to remember the next time I’m decorating an area and can’t figure out what to use as a filler. This hop is so much fun and I’m getting so many great ideas!
