You guys are knocking the fall porches out of the park this season so I couldn’t help making fall porches the theme for features again this week! I planned to share my fall front porch this week as well but life had other plans…
I am a big-time tubber and when we built our house I couldn’t resist getting a corner jacuzzi tub for our master bathroom. Whenever we went on vacation, if our hotel room had a jacuzzi tub you can bet I was in it every day we were there. I thought it would be so awesome to have a jacuzzi tub of our own one day! But the novelty quickly wore off after we got the tub installed and we discovered the motor for the jacuzzi was really loud – not exactly the best thing for a relaxing soak! So even though I used the tub almost daily over the last 11 years, I ran the jacuzzi maybe a handful of times. I also discovered the jet nozzles were very hard to clean and would often get green algae and other undefinable gunk growing inside them. Then last year one of the jet nozzles broke and we couldn’t find a replacement nozzle as they have been discontinued by the manufacturer. With that I was finally able to convince the hubs it was time to replace the tub. We ordered a regular corner tub a few weeks ago and it came in last week. Since my hub’s work is slow right now, he took the week off this week so we could replace our jacuzzi tub with the new un-jacuzzi one. As we’ve devoted all our time to getting that done this week I didn’t have time to finish decorating our front porch. I hope to finish it and have it up on the blog next week – unless life has other plans again!

We are going through the same dilemma right now. The plan is to gut our main bathroom before the holidays and we too have a jacuzzi tub with irreplaceable parts. I want to replace ours with a soaker but hubs wants another jet tub. I need to show him what you said about the gross stuff in hopes I get my way. What a coincidence that we are dealing with the same thing with jet tubs! All I can say is that we almost have our new tub in and I can already say I like it SO much better than our old tub – and I haven’t even used it yet! 🙂 I’m with you as far as no jets, but it really comes down to how much you and your hubs will use the jets if you get another jet tub. If you guys didn’t use the jets a lot in your old tub, it probably wouldn’t be worth the hassle of the extra upkeep. Let me know what you guys decide on!
