Hey there! I hope you had a safe, healthy and happy week!
You might have noticed that beyond Farmhouse Friday not much has been happening around here lately. I have a chronic back injury that affects my sciatica nerve in my right leg and hip. Most of the time I can manage the pain pretty well with exercise and CBD oil, but sometimes it will flare up and nothing will work except staying off of it for at least a couple of days. When it acts up I can’t stand in one spot for more than a minute without being in extreme pain, which makes doing projects for the blog a very slow process.
I don’t like to complain here about my health issues because I know that there are a lot of people that struggle with much more serious ailments than me. I know how lucky and blessed I am to be healthy for the most part and I’m not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. The only time I’ll complain about it is when it affects getting projects done for the blog so you all know why nothing’s getting posted 🙂
This week I did manage to get a post done for the Thrifty Style Team, where each month I join a team of talented ladies to bring you thrifty DIY projects and decor inspiration that won’t break the bank!
My contribution to this month’s TST is a Vintage 7UP Crate Christmas Centerpiece.

Link Party Rules:
Link up your DIY projects, decor inspiration, and crafts that are farmhouse style. You don’t have to live in a farmhouse or have farmhouse be the main decor theme in your home in order to link up. I love seeing farmhouse mixed in with other styles such as boho! No food or recipe posts please. I’m super flexible when it comes to defining “farmhouse” so if you are unsure of whether your post will fit in the party theme, go ahead and post it and if I feel it doesn’t fit, it will be deleted – no hard feelings! 🙂 It doesn’t matter how old your posts are, but please link up your posts only once.
I don’t require you to link back to this party, but if you do, I appreciate it! I also don’t require you to visit or comment on other blogger’s linkups, but it’s always a nice way to share the bloggy love! By linking up, you will get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across my social media. If you pin anything from the party, please pin it from the original source.
By linking up to this party, you permit me to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post was featured.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for sharing, i for one like when people are “real” I too suffer from chronic things and tried not to bring it to my blog but sometimes i find it helps others to know we are all human and you never know what anyone is going thru..always be kind

Thank you so much! It’s nice to know there is someone who can relate to how I feel about sharing my illnesses on the blog.

I know how much pain sciatica outbursts are, Michelle. I have the same issue on the same side. What finally worked for me when I feel them coming on is a visit to the chiropractor. Almost instant relief! Hang in there!
Michelle says
Thank you so much for the chiropractor tip Marie! I am definitely going to try that next time it happens because this pain is for the birds. I hope you have the best weekend and week ahead!

You guys are so sweet to feature our Fall front porch, Michelle, thank you so much! I’m really sorry you’re going through such severe back and leg pain. I’ve only hurt my back once and I swear it was worse than having stitches in my forehead from a car accident. I’m glad you’re staying off of it and taking extra care of yourself. You’re worth it! Hugs, CoCo
Michelle says
Thank you so much CoCo! Back pain is just the worst! Hugs right back atcha!

Feel better Michelle. My dad suffered of sciatica and I never understood it. Last year I was hit by a car as I was walking across a crosswalk and landed on my tailbone. I have had pain ever since and although not the same thing I understand having pain you have no control over regardless of what you do. Sending {{{good vibes}}}. Thanks for the party.
XO- MaryJo
Michelle says
Thank you MaryJo! And my goodness – getting hit by a car must have been so scary! I’m so sorry that you injured your tailbone and so glad it wasn’t any worse! I hope you have the best weekend and week!

Hi Michelle. I hope you fell better soon. I use a tens unit when I have sciatica and it normally helps me. Just a suggestion that has worked for me. Your table display is perfect. It has me plotting and planning.
Michelle says
Thanks so much for the tip Michelle! I had never heard of a tens unit before, so I Googled it and it definitely looks like something that would be worth trying out! Thanks again!

I love your soda bottle crate arrangement! It turned out really cute!
Back pain is not fun! My mom has sciatica pain flare ups too and the only thing that helps her is to put an ice pack 3 or 4 times a day on her lower back for 10 minutes each time. It helps her right away because it reduces the swelling that is causing the pinched nerve. I hope you are feeling better by now!
Take care,
Tee

Thanks for that sciatica tip Tee! I’m definitely going to try that next time I have a flare up. I’m happy you like my soda bottle crate! 🙂
