Hey friends! I hope you are doing well – and staying well!
Welcome to this month’s edition of Thrifty Style Team hosted by Julie at Redhead Can Decorate! Thrifty Style Team is a group of uber-talented ladies who get together once a month to bring you thrifty DIY projects and decor inspiration that won’t break the bank!
This month’s edition of Thrifty Style Team is Christmas themed, so get ready so see some awesome and thrifty Christmas decor ideas!
My contribution for this month is a vintage 7UP crate Christmas centerpiece!
This was SO freaking easy to put together! All you need is:
- A Vintage 7UP crate
- 7UP bottle(s) (I only had one bottle, but I think it’d look cool with 1-2 more)
- Pine cones
- Pine sprigs (I trimmed these off of a faux pine pick)
- Red berry pine picks
- Taper candle
- Vintage lantern
- Fairy lights
I put fairy lights in the vintage lantern to give the centerpiece a little more pop! Maybe I’ll add a string of lights to the tree later.
I love how it turned out! My only regret is that you can’t clearly see the 7UP writing on the crate. I’m going to try to find another 7UP crate where the writing isn’t as worn off.
I know I’ll probably catch hell from the safety police over the lit candle, but I didn’t have any battery operated taper candles so I had to go with this. Always keep lit candles away from combustible materials and never leave lit candles unattended.
I hope you enjoyed my Vintage 7UP crate Christmas centerpiece! Would you like to see crates done with other soda brands like Pepsi or Coca-Cola? If you would, let me know in the comments!

I love this, Michelle! I have been thinking about doing a centerpiece with my Coke crate and after seeing what you created, I’m definitely making something similar for my home.
Michelle says
Thank you so much Paula! I’m so happy it inspired you!

Michelle, I love your crate centerpiece. I’ll have to look for a Pepsi crate as we live in Pepsi territory. My sister-in-law gave me a set of battery operated tapers one year as a Christmas gift. Now I know what to stick them in now!
Michelle says
Thanks so much Jane! I’m so happy this inspired you!

This is so cute Michelle! I’d love to find a vintage Coke crate! My father in law is a collector so maybe I’ll ask him 😉
Michelle says
Thanks so much Cindy! My grandfather was the collector in my family and I was lucky to inherit a lot of the pieces I use in my decor today.

This is such a fun idea, Michelle! Love those old pop bottles, and combined with the crate; adorable! Have you tried brushing some poly on the crate? Sometimes it pops those old graphics colors so you can see them a little better.
Michelle says
Thank you Lora! And thank you so much for the poly tip – I’m definitely going to try that!
