I know, I know… I should be diligently working on providing you with new and exciting DIY projects that blow your mind! But, pretty flowers have always been my weakness. And for a couple weeks this time of year, our neck of the woods virtually explodes with glorious white, pink, and yellow eye candy full of a sweet, intoxicating scent which hits me square in the olfactories every time I step outside my house, rendering me powerless to do anything other than spin around, run back inside, and grab my camera.

Tax season is upon us, and as usual, I procrastinated getting them done until almost the last minute. Every year, I buy a copy of TurboTax in January and say triumphantly “As soon as I get all my tax documents in Feburary, I’m going to get them done!” In February, I say  “I am so busy and I still have plenty of time; I’ll do them the first week of March!” Then the first week of March passes.

The most prominent crop in our neck of the woods is almonds. In fact, our little town is the “Almond Blossom Capitol of the World.”

No, really. 🙂

Our house is surrounded on all four sides and miles around by almond trees. They come into bloom this time of year which allows for some gorgeous photo opportunities.

So here’s some tips for photographing trees in bloom!

At this time of year, the morning and evening light is just amazing, not to mention the light during mostly cloudy and stormy days.
